At Lumine we work every day pursuing our strategic goal of creating a more sustainable place by implementing measures to protect the environment, ensure the sustainability of our facilities and apply new measures to fight the climate crisis that our planet is suffering.

For this, all the activity of our club is audited and certified by international entities such as Golf Environment Organization (GEO), Audubon International Gold Signature Sanctuary, Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Sèquia Major

We implement protection and development policies in this protected natural area with which we live and for which we feel deep respect.

Disalaination plant

100% of the consumption of irrigation water in the whole complex comes from its own plant that recycles wastewater from neighboring towns.

Energy management

The migration to LED technology in all our facilities, as well as the installation of solar panels are a firm commitment to a sustainable use of energy

No plastics

We have eliminated the consumption of disposable plastic bottles and replaced many items of furniture with biodegradable and recycled materials.

No paper

We have opted in many areas of the complex to eliminate processes and redesign work elements to reduce as much as possible the consumption of paper in all our activity.

Local product

We use products from local suppliers not only for their excellent quality, but for the energy savings that this means for the planet.

Sèquia Major

Lakes, one of the three golf courses in Lumine, is built in harmony with the “Sèquia Major”, a protected natural area with strategic ecological value, as it is the area with the most biodiversity in Catalonia after the Delta de Ebro. The wetlands that coexist with the Lakes course, are home to many protected and other native species, including protected species such as toothed carp or fartet (fish), brook turtle (turtle) and purple calamoncillo (bird).

Lumine operates its own complex water recycling system. A state-of-the-art desalination plant collects wastewater from the towns bordering the complex (Vila-Seca, La Pineda and Salou) to treat it and adapt it to use as irrigation water for all areas of the complex. We are aware of the crucial importance of water consumption in the future of the planet. That is why at Lumine we strongly believe in the circular economy as an engine to slow down and reverse the climate crisis that our planet is suffering.
